Do likes/comments have any effect on video performance?

YouTubers ask for them all the time, but it seems like watch time is infinitely more important.
What do you think?
Top Comment: Likes and comments are super important. But overall, I think watch time is more important. Video with a higher watch time shows to the YouTube algorithm that people are interested in and actively engaging with your content. As such, it will promote your video to a wider audience. Also, to increase watch time it's important to attract real engagement. Be active, upload at peak times, and try services like Marketing Heaven. I used them a few times in the past and my videos. Overall, YouTube definitely wants people to stay on the platform as long as possible so watch tame has an advantage in terms of importance.
Does anyone know how I can get more likes on my videos?

I have 34.4K followers and I only get 20-60 likes per video. I just made a post by trying tags and I got 13 likes lol. How can I get more engagement?

So, they're visible on the browser version, not the app. What I did was go on browser, click open the liked videos, watch one video/spend time on it. THEN I got onto the app, clicked the You section AND BOOM, in the history, there was the entire playlist

Treehouse Video: Dislikes now outnumber likes!

So the video finally has more dislikes than likes, which I think says a lot. No Pokemon fan is the same and we’ve all lost features we’ve loved. I still have a team for triple battles I hope will shine in a new region someday. But this is something all fans seem to agree on.
Update: For those not in the know. Gamefreak announced that all Pokemon can be sent to the upcoming Pokemon Home, but only Pokemon in the Galar Dex can be moved from Home to Sword and Shield. Their tone suggests they intend to keep it this way, and further translation had said that this is how Gamefreak intend to handle every future release of Pokemon.
Dislikes now double Likes.
Update: 14/6/19 - dislikes now treble likes.

Massive dislike to like ratios are a good way of showing how unpopular a decision is so this is good.
I had 20 likes on my YouTube video and now it went down to 0? Did YouTube remove my likes?

So recently I posted a video on my channel talking about a glitch I found in Rocket League. A few hours after the upload I checked it and it was at 20 likes. The next day, which is today I checked the like count and it was at 0. Now I asked my Best Friend if he watched and liked the video and he said he did. But when i checked it again it was still at 0. So he screen recorded himself liking the video and then sent it to me. But when I checked it for the final time my likes were still at 0. Did YouTube take away all my likes or is this simply a glitch. Please help

Youtube indeed took away your likes. They do this if the think something is suspiicious. (TOo many likes in too little time for your channel etc, its like an artifical method of kepeing things from going viral, they hat esmall creators)

i regularly leave “cat tv” on youtube or the samsung smart tv free animal channel on for my dudes and they LOVE watching other cats on the screen and ofcourse birbs n swirls

Top Comment: The funny thing is that YouTube said that they will hide the dislike button so the creator cannot feel like sh*t but it's ironic because the only person who can see the dislike ratio is the creator himself
